4 Free Search Engines That Help The Environment

Climate change is a problem that most of us know about but don't do much about it. This problem can very well be the Ragnarok that ends life on Earth. However most of us don't realise that with changes as simple as changing our search engine, we can do our own little bit to save the environment. These search engines are similar to what you might be using right now and the search results too are excellent.  The only difference is the change of the search engine. So here are 4 search engines that you should change to right now! 1) Ecosia - Some of you might already know about this search engine. So this search engine plants trees every time you search the web. It is entirely free to switch to. It also shows how many trees you have planted on the right top corner of your screen. You can change this as your search engine by simply going to Settings - Search Engine and then selecting Ecosia. They also have a YouTube channel where you can find more about their cause. https://www.you

How YOU Might DISCRIMINATE But Not Know It

How YOU Might DISCRIMINATE But Not Know It Discrimination, needless to say, is a huge pestering problem not only in India but wold wide.  Last year it was brought to light with the killing of George Floyd which sparked huge protests in the western countries. In India too, it is a major concern for leaders. Recently it entered into the world of cricket and has been a hot topic. Be it when Mohammed Siraj was called a 'brown dog' in the 3rd test between India and Australia or more recently, the Ollie Robinson issue. The main point is discrimination is very alive. What is disappointing is that this is happening even in the 21st century and this leaves one ashamed. So we got to put an end to it. But the problem is that people could be discriminating without knowing that they are. And as we have seen and known from the above examples, the government is powerless in this situation and it is us who have to put a stop to it. Of course the government could spread awareness but in the e

Poem - The Scribble

The Scribble What to write? is a daunting question A clean, white paper is what makes me waver A chance for something unique and great Appreciation and longing for fame A fear to not write anything but great Makes everyday seem the same Sitting and staring at the clean, white paper Ideas running through my head But as I write, they stop dead Not good, stupid, lame! Were the thoughts that dominated my head My pen screeched ‘boring’ Negative thoughts and emotions were soaring Filled with tension and anticipation I started with a dabble, A scribbly scribble A page that was once completely white is now as black as a starry night I let my emotions run completely free My tension is then released And now I feel much more merry This time I write Not for glory or fame Don’t care if it is lame This time I write for fun and cheer For it is the fun and enjoyment in  Writing that I hold dear This poem was chosen as a finalist and then chosen as a runner up in the conVERSE poetry slam organised by

Poem - If I Could Paint In The Air

If I Could Paint In the Air If I could paint in the air I would paint all day without a care Sketches, doodles and portraits Landscapes, cartoons and ,myriad shapes Maybe some rockets to the moon For humankind it would be a boon Or maybe new cities and some schools With only my paintbrush as a tool  But the bliss of creating this magic I would not hoard with myself I would share the glory with my kith and kin  All the magical paintbrushes on my shelf There would be less misery and more artists with paintbrushes clamped in their fists There would be more joy, care and more share If only I could paint in the air This poem was sent for a writing competition at an international level organised by Little Scoop. This poem stood first in Telangana State.

Poem - If One Day Could Be Repeated...

If One Day Could Be Repeated...  If one day could be repeated everyday I would definitely choose Sunday It is a stress breaker and a fun day Filled with countless opportunities but less time To choose from is a happy headache The lazy mornings of Sunday No school or homework to do, Laying all morning  Pondering over fun stuff to do Sunny mornings of bliss No Maths, no Science, no languages The thought makes me drool Then a call to my friends Followed by hours of happiness And then I have a brunch Over the delicious food I hunch Gobbling everything up Engaging in gupshup Conversing with my family All topics, wise or silly Afternoons are spent binging on Netflix Some popcorn, juice and just chilling Countless shows to choose from The options are perplexing And hours pass away like seconds Evenings pass away while I play Cricket, basketball or dodgeball Then we reluctantly part ways f or our homes, Occasionally coming across a dog run astray The menu for dinner leaves me bewildered Afte

My Thoughts On Screen Time

Screen Time This is undoubtedly one of the most popular conflicts between kids and their parents - Screen Time. It can be quite frustrating when your parents switch the TV off from their phone (it is possible) in the middle of an important or a tense scene in a show or if you’re a gamer, then when you are about to win. The popular response of parents when you ask for a little more time is “Why don’t you spend the same amount of time studying as you spend playing games or on the TV” or “I will switch off all the electronics if you don’t go and study or read a book right now” or something of that sort. In today’s time almost all the means of entertainment require a screen. Of course there are outdoor sports but you cannot play them at any given time of the day and you will also get exhausted playing them  at a point. I think kids should get a say in their screen time. Obviously they too are equally concerned about their eyes. One common misconception about screen time is that screen ti
